Thank you for all of your help in making the grass root calls, letters and emails to Senator Plale to vote for SB 113/AB 138 (the DNR Secretary Appointment Bill) in the Senate Natural Resources Committee. The bill did pass out of committee and is now ready for scheduling on the floor of the Senate. AB 138, the Assembly version of the bill, passed the Assembly by an overwhelming 61-32 vote, with four of our cosponsors with excused absences.

Now we need to get a vote in the State Senate, where 16 Senators on a bipartisan basis have cosponsored the bill.

However the opponents to the bill are trying to prevent it from coming up for a vote as their way of killing the bill.

The key people to having this bill scheduled and passed are Senator Jeff Plale, (while he supported it in committee, he indicated that he may vote against it on the floor), Senator Spencer Coggs and Senator Lena Taylor.
